Our Vision, Mission and Values

“It takes a whole village to raise a child.” African Proverb

Raise a Child

Within the African context, the responsibility for raising a child is shared with the extended family – older children, aunts and uncles, grandparents, cousins and even neighbours and friends. Child upbringing is a community role that emphasises the importance of family relationships, communal participation, sharing, caring, and concern for one another.

With decades of disease, environmental disaster, tribal conflict and poverty, many Kenyan families and communities have felt the debilitating collapse of strong traditional and relational ties that once ensured that children were always supported.

We hope that you will join us in restoring hope and rebuilding strong families so that every child we reach will know what it is like to walk in their full potential. As it takes a whole village to raise a child, so it takes each one of us – citizens of a global village, to help eradicate poverty and bring about lasting transformation.
