Get Involved by Volunteering

BCC Africa welcomes volunteers with varying skills and education, short term (two weeks plus) or long-term. Right now, we would love to have people with skills in:

If you have skills in other areas, then please feel welcome to contact us. We’d love to hear from you!

If you are looking for an experience that promises to be personally rewarding where you can utilise your skills in positively influencing the Bethlehem Community Centre, then please feel free to contact us for further information regarding the volunteering positions at BCC in Kenya. There’s an Initial Enquiry Form that we would ask you to complete and send to us.

Teaching – At BCC Soweto is a Community Pre School and Primary School serving about 250 children from within the community and the centre. Training teachers and bringing new techniques for better learning within the Kenyan context to improve overall academic performance is what is required.

Financial Management – Accounting – We recognise that we must increase our finances to be able to care for and educate children as well as undertake the work we do with women and families within the communities we serve. A person with skills in financial management and accounting systems is required so that we can be well prepared for the financial growth.

Agriculture – The Bethlehem Community Centre has 40 acres at Kamulu, about an hour’s drive outside Nairobi city. The goal is to develop this land, partly in agriculture so that income can be generated for self reliance. If you have the passion and vision to create an agricultural project that can generate long-term financial sustainability for BCC, then please contact us.

Building – Builders, carpenters, electricians, plumbers and concreters would be welcomed at BCC. At the centre in Soweto we have a goal to build permanent classrooms for lower primary, an administration block, a new kitchen and toilets. In Mwea, our immediate goal is to renovate the current centre. We’re looking for someone who can bring together a team, plan and organise what needs to be done and train local builders who will work side by side the overseas team.

Don’t fit into any of these areas – that’s okay! Please let us know who you are and what you can volunteer in.
